MK Life Tips: My Vision Board Ritual for the New Year
/With the New Year, we often see this as an opportunity for a fresh start, a way in which we can create new ways of being in order to recognize the best versions of ourselves. One way to do this is by creating a vision board that holds the images of the life you desire to create. When we put our visions to reality, they are much more likely to come to fruition. I enjoy building one at the beginning of each year in the form of a desktop image that I create using this Canva template, and as I reflect on my vision boards from years past, a lot of what I have put on them has since come true. If you’re interested in creating your own, keep reading on for a few tips and tricks that I’ve learned over the years.
Use Pinterest to pull inspirational imagery. Take some space to think about what it is you desire to create, and then have fun looking through Pinterest, and pulling images that to you, represent this goal coming true. Then using the template I provided above, you can drop in the imagery to create an inspiring photo montage. You can either pick one goal (as I did above, my dream house!), or you can include all of your goals by choosing whatever images speak to you the most.
Incorporate powerful affirmations. Along with imagery, I like to include affirmations that the version of me who is already living this life believes about themselves and the world around them. If you’re looking for affirmation inspiration, you can continue to search on Pinterest, or checkout Louise Hays, the queen of affirmations.
Add in pictures of dreams that have already occurred. To make your vision board feel as if it is what you’re already living in the present moment, include images of dreams that have already come true. For example, a dream of mine was to be happily married and have a baby, so I include a family photo in my vision board as a representation that what I desire is real, just like everything else I include will eventually come true.
Wishing you an incredible year ahead, and I affirm for you that all of your desires are real, and are on their way to you, Happy New Year!
