Update on California's Open House Compliance
/The California Association of Realtors recently announced that open houses will now be permitted, with certain COVID-safe restrictions in place. When the pandemic hit in 2020, open houses were unfortunately shut down indefinitely. Open houses can be beneficial for all parties, agents, sellers and buyers, so it was quite a let down when they were put to a stop. I am excited to say that the CAR announced that open houses on a walk-in basis can resume, and it is effective immediately.
The following restrictions have been updated to allow for walk-in open houses to resume:
The events must adhere to capacity limits based on California’s color-coded tier system. In the current tier, the limit for indoor activities is 50 people.
Physical distancing and masks are required. Hand sanitizer should be readily available for use.
Appointments are no longer required, however all attendees must sign in and acknowledge that they have not been exposed to COVID-19 in recent days.
Rules for entry must be posted at the entrance, and the property should be cleaned once daily to adhere to CDC guidelines
Those who are feeling unwell or have COVID-19 symptoms should not attend open houses.
